A garment cut to one body, not three
I work alone in a small first-floor studio above the high-street tailor's, with two fitting rooms, good north light and a kettle that's always on. Most of my work is bridal and occasion wear; the rest is alterations brought in by neighbours who'd rather mend than replace. Every piece begins with a measuring session and an honest conversation about budget and timing.
Allow six to nine months for a wedding gown, two to three weeks for a simple alteration. I take on roughly forty bespoke pieces a year — when the diary is full I will say so.
