A kitchen that feeds everyone
We have run this dining room for twelve years and most of our staff have been with us long enough to remember the regulars' birthdays. The kitchen does the kind of food parents want their children to recognise — proper roasts, real fish and chips, big family Sundays — without forgetting that the grown-ups want a glass of something good and a steak cooked the way they asked.
Booking is recommended on weekends and during school holidays. We have high chairs, baby-changing facilities, a small play corner and a children's menu that is not just smaller versions of the adult plates. Allergies and dietary needs — call ahead and we'll plan around them.

Roast meat with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, gravy and stuffing — cooked from scratch every Sunday.
Beer-battered haddock with twice-cooked chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon — straightforward and proper.
Choice of pasta, mini roast, fish goujons or chicken with rice, plus a piece of fruit or scoop of ice cream — small portion, real food.
30-day-aged sirloin grilled to your liking, served with skin-on chips, peppercorn sauce or garlic butter, and a watercress salad.
Half lamb shoulder, four portions of trimmings, two sauces and a children's roast plate — for the table that wants the lot.
Warm date sponge with toffee sauce and clotted cream — the dessert most often shared between three spoons.
