A short walk from the village green
Tucked into a stone building on the high street, the inn has eight bedrooms upstairs and a low-beamed dining room downstairs where regulars and travellers share the same long tables. Rooms are simple and properly looked after: thick mattresses, blackout curtains, real keys and a kettle that works. Breakfast runs until ten and the kitchen serves a short evening menu six nights a week.
We answer the phone ourselves, we know which rooms are quietest on a Friday night, and we will happily book the table you want for after your walk. Bring muddy boots — the porch has a row of hooks and a tray for them.

What Our Clients Say
"Easily the best night's sleep I've had in a pub room in years. The breakfast was real food and the landlady remembered my name on day two."
"Booked the walkers' break for a group of six. Everything we asked for was sorted before we arrived and the boots came back out the next morning dry."
"We came for the roast and stayed the night. Three pints, a proper Yorkshire pudding and a quiet room above the bar — exactly what was promised."
