A door that opens onto the trees
The lodge sits on twelve acres of woodland, ten minutes' drive from the nearest village. Six cabins, one farmhouse-style main building and a wood-fired sauna by the lake make up the whole place — no through-traffic, no neighbours within earshot. Beds are made up with proper linen, the kitchen burns wood from our own coppice and the wifi is good enough for a film but not strong enough to take work to bed.
Guests come for a long walk, a fire and an honest plate of food, and we keep the day uncomplicated: breakfast in the main house, packed lunch on the porch, dinner at seven if you've booked it. We answer email within the day and the phone always.

Detached one-bedroom cabin with wood-burning stove, kitchenette, outdoor shower under cover and a porch facing the woods.
Two-bedroom cabin with full kitchen, sofa-bed in the snug, fenced deck and a fire-pit set ready by sundown.
Top-floor suite in the main lodge with hand-built bed, claw-foot bath and private use of the reading room before nine.
Two nights in a forest cabin, a guided half-day walk on either Saturday or Sunday and an unhurried sauna session by the lake.
Exclusive use of all six cabins, the main lodge and the sauna for groups of up to twenty-two — catering on request.
Afternoon access to the wood-fired sauna and lake jetty with a kitchen lunch served in the main lodge — no overnight stay.
