From the harbour, on the same tide
We buy directly from three day-boats in Looe, two long-line skippers in Newlyn and the cooperative auction in Brixham — what's listed at noon is what landed before sunrise. The grill runs on charcoal, the chips are double-cooked in beef fat and the white wine list (about sixty bottles) is built around things that pair with sea air.
Forty-six covers across the dining room and a six-stool oyster bar where you can watch the shucker work. Children eat half-portions of whatever you ordered, the chowder runs all year and the lobster is straight from the tank — we will not pretend otherwise.

Our current menu — discover it on-site or reserve in advance.

Six native rocks from Mersea or Lindisfarne when in season, served on ice with shallot mignonette and lemon.

1.2 kg line-caught bass roasted on the bone, lemon, herbs, browned butter and a side of tenderstem broccoli.

Whatever the boat brought in this morning — chalkboard updates throughout service. Pan-fried, grilled or steamed, your call.

Native half-lobster gratinated with mustard-tarragon hollandaise, served with hand-cut chips and a green salad.

Hand-picked Cornish brown and white crab, chilli, garlic, parsley and lemon over fresh linguine.

Smoked haddock, cockles, mussels, leek and potato simmered in cream and milk, with sourdough toast.
